Hotel Zur Post in Munich Hofbrauhaus in Munich Munich, Germany (1)

I had not booked a hotel ahead of time in Munich and someone at Brueninghaus Hydromatik was nice enough to arrange a room at the Hotel Zur Post for me. Unfortunately this Hotel was on the outskirts of Munich and I had to take a train to get to the city center.

Going to the Hofbrauhaus in Munich is a must. The picture is of me and my new friends who are in town for a soccer game. I was running low on euro coins so they bought me beer and even something to eat. You meet the nicest Germans (and the drunkest) at the Hofbrauhaus.

On Saturday I walked around the city center and hit all the usual tourist traps. That evening I was back at the Hofbrauhaus.

The Hofbrauhaus is open to 11:30 PM which seems early. When you leave the Hofbrauhaus at closing time there's really nothing to do except go back to the hotel.

The following day I arrived at the airport three hours early because I wasn't sure how long it would take to get there. When I was for there for two hours I kept hearing a page spoken in German that included "Herr Bucher". After a few of these pages, I then heard "Mr. Bucher, please proceed immediately to Gate..". I arrived at the gate and discovered that everbody was boarded except me. It seems that Germany had its Daylight Saving Times start that weekend of which I was completely unaware. When I boarded the plane everybody was looking at me with extreme annoyance.
